Insights
The Health Research Institute (HRI) provides advanced analytical testing services for researchers, food producers, environmental professionals, and organizations seeking high-quality laboratory analysis. Using state-of-the-art instrumentation, including liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), HRI measures trace levels of environmental contaminants, nutrients, and biological markers across a wide range of sample types. Our testing services support research, product verification, environmental monitoring, and human and animal health investigations.

In addition to HRI’s glyphosate testing kits, we offer a broad range of laboratory testing services for environmental, agricultural, and research applications.

Our Testing Services
Human & Animal Exposure Testing
HRI performs biomonitoring analyses to quantify chemical exposure and assess physiological responses in human and animal biological samples.
Services include:
  • Glyphosate & AMPA (aminomethylphosphonic acid) biomonitoring in urine, hair, plasma/serum, saliva, and other biological samples. Collection kits are available on our Testing Kits page.
  • Oxidative stress biomarker testing using urine-based markers to assess cellular stress and physiological responses
  • Phthalate biomonitoring and exposure analysis in urine, hair, plasma/serum, and other biological samples
  • Exposure analysis for environmental chemicals and metabolites, including urine pesticide multi-residue (UPMR) testing and a targeted Quats panel (paraquat, diquat, chlormequat, and glufosinate)
  • Heavy metal biomonitoring and exposure analysis in urine, hair, plasma/serum, and other biological samples
Veterinary Drug, Antibiotic & Hormone Testing
HRI provides multi-residue and targeted testing for veterinary drugs, antibiotics, and hormone residues in animal and agricultural samples, supporting regulatory, safety, and research applications.
Testing capabilities include:
  • Veterinary multi-residue (VMR) panels
  • Antibiotics and aminoglycosides
  • Growth promoters and hormone residues
  • Veterinary sedatives and specialty compounds
  • These analyses support livestock monitoring, food safety, and agricultural research.
Environmental & Agricultural Testing
HRI analyzes environmental and agricultural samples to detect contaminants that may impact food safety, ecosystems, and human health.
Sample types include soil, water, food products, animal feed, agricultural commodities, and biological samples.
Testing may include analysis for:
  • Pesticides and pesticide metabolites, including multi-residue pesticide (PMR) screening, commonly monitored compounds such as glyphosate and AMPA, and a targeted Quats panel (paraquat, diquat, chlormequat, and glufosinate)
  • Heavy metals and methylmercury
  • Phthalates and other environmental chemicals
  • Some specialized analyses may be performed in collaboration with accredited laboratory partners.
Nutritional Composition Analysis
HRI provides analytical testing to evaluate the nutritional composition of food, beverages, dietary supplements, and animal feed.
These analyses help researchers, producers, and product developers understand nutrient profiles and verify product composition.
Testing capabilities include:
  • Vitamins (water- and fat-soluble, including A, D, E, K, and B-complex)
  • Amino acids (free and protein-bound)
  • Fatty acids profiles
  • Nutrient density and related compounds (including nutrient profiling and density scoring)
Pesticide Multi-Residue Analysis
HRI conducts targeted and multi-residue pesticide analysis using advanced LC-MS/MS instrumentation capable of detecting trace levels of pesticide compounds and metabolites across a wide range of sample types.
These analyses support:
  • Food and agricultural product testing
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Research studies investigating pesticide exposure

Payment & Invoicing
Samples may be submitted with payment by check. Approved clients may also request invoicing. If you have questions about payment options before shipping your samples, please contact HRI.
Batching & Turnaround Times
HRI testing services follow a structured workflow based on sample volume and method type.

Standard & Expedited Turnaround

Once samples are received and minimum sample requirements are met:

  • Standard: ~10 business days
  • Expedited: ~5 business days (150% of standard pricing)
  • Rush: ~2 business days (200% of standard pricing)

Batching Requirements

All test panels except Glyphosate & AMPA require a minimum of 3 samples to initiate analysis.

  • Orders with fewer than 3 samples will be held until the batch requirement is met.
  • This may extend turnaround time to up to 30 business days.

Special Cases

  • Flexible (Batched Orders):
Orders that do not meet minimum sample requirements are processed as part of a batch, with turnaround times of up to 30 business days.
  • Developmental Methods:
New or custom testing methods may require additional setup and validation, with turnaround times of up to 6 weeks.
